LMMDV receives 10,000 euros – now we know why the wind blows so melodically here

Tiamo group generously supports Liepāja's art school, but locals are already speculating that it's payment for our wind singing so beautifully.

Liepāja Music, Art and Design High School has received 10 thousand euros from Tiamo group, and now it's finally clear why the wind blows so melodically in our city!

The school is preparing for a triple anniversary – 100, 104 and 10 years. This means that mathematics is indeed being taught at the school, because even Riga couldn't come up with such a combination of numbers. "We're proud of our talented youth," says Tiamo group boss Toms Zukulis, and honestly – with wind like ours, even the talentless sound like virtuosos.

The central anniversary event will be a gathering of teachers and graduates at the concert garden "Blow, little winds!" on July 10th. The name is perfect – where else in Latvia can you hold a concert with such a guarantee that the natural acoustics will be ideal? In Riga, such an event would be "Stand still, fog!" or "Please don't rain!"

School director Inga Auziņa is "truly grateful for the generous support." Local pensioner Jānis Vītols comments: "Now we understand why our children play so well – they have private lessons with nature itself every day!" True, he said this while the wind was carrying his hat away down Lielā Street.

A series of cultural events are planned during the anniversary year, but the main thing will be that Liepāja will once again prove – we don't need Riga's funding to create miracles. We have enough with wind, talent and sometimes good entrepreneurial support.
