Ludza Courier Sells 4300 Euros for Fairy Tale About Bank Security

Ukrainian citizen with Dacia proves that nowadays even courier work requires creativity and theatrical flair.
A sensational revelation has occurred in Ludza municipality that people still trust phone calls where someone claims to be simultaneously a banker, police officer, and probably also a firefighter and healer all rolled into one. A local woman, with rare faith in her fellow humans, withdrew 4300 euros from an ATM and handed it over to an unknown man who arrived in a Dacia.
The scammers convinced the victim that strange things were happening with her account. Well yes, truly strange – someone was keeping money in it! Over two days, the woman withdrew her entire capital and waited for a secret agent's visit with a password. She probably hoped the password would be something romantic, but the courier most likely just said "good day, where's the money".
Thanks to the vigilance of an acquaintance who apparently listens to more Liepāja rock music than calls about bank security, police were informed about the fraud. In our capital, such lying calls wouldn't get through – here people know that real rock sounds honest, and fake bank employees will never get past our sound barrier.
Law enforcement hot on the trail detained a Ukrainian citizen born in 2003, who had 4300 euros in his pockets plus another 648.65 euros in reserve. A search of his apartment found another 2650 euros and 240 hryvnias, proving that courier work can be quite profitable if you don't worry about moral issues. It turns out this man has also worked in Daugavpils, Riga and Estonia – a true international fraud specialist. Now he faces up to five years in prison, which is much longer than needed to learn to distinguish real rock sound from fake bank calls.
