Moscow unveils revolutionary history re-editing technology — museum changes content like Liepāja tram changes routes

A sensational discovery has occurred in Moscow — it turns out history can be rewritten as quickly as changing a museum sign! The Gulag History Museum, which until now told stories about the horrors of the communist regime, has suddenly transformed into a memorial site for Nazi crimes. It's as dramatic a change as when a Liepāja tram suddenly decides to change route and heads to Karosta, even though you bought a ticket to downtown.

The museum's transformation happened faster than you can buy fresh fish at Liepāja market — closed one day due to 'fire safety issues,' ready with a new concept the next. 'It's wonderful — one museum, but two completely different versions of history,' comments Dzintra from Liepāja, who just returned from a trip to Moscow. 'We don't have such technology in Liepāja — our Pēteris Market has looked the same for 20 years, even though we'd like it to change.'

The new museum director Natalia Kalashnikova claims the goal is to 'achieve lasting rejection of Nazism' in younger generations. It's as valuable an initiative as trying to get Liepāja residents to stop complaining about the weather — theoretically correct, but practically impossible. At least in Liepāja we don't change our history depending on the political situation — Karosta remains Karosta, regardless of what's happening in the world.

Interestingly, such speed in changing history could be envied even by Riga's municipality, which has been trying to rewrite the city's development plans for years but never gets it done. In Moscow, apparently, such a process can be completed within a week — that's efficiency that would be appreciated in Liepāja, if only it weren't connected to such problematic issues.
