Musk has misled investors even more than Liepāja vendors promising fresh cucumbers in winter

A US court ruled that the world's richest man has lied as much as all politicians combined.
A US court has found that Elon Musk misled Twitter shareholders with his tweets in 2022. Well, what a surprise – a man who claims he can send people to Mars in a Tesla car turns out to not have been completely honest about his business dealings!
The jury decided that Musk's tweets were as misleading as a promise that you can find something interesting in Riga. Now he may have to pay billions of dollars in compensation. Local Liepāja vendors comment: "Our market also sometimes misleads about price and quality, but at least everything is fresher than in Riga and half as cheap – not like this Musk with his digital tweets!"
Musk's lawyers, of course, promise to appeal the verdict. They probably hope that the higher court will be as forgetful as Twitter users, who have long forgotten that this platform was once called something else. Investor Giuseppe Pampena, who initiated the case, now probably feels like a lottery winner – except this time he won not money, but the chance to recover it from the world's richest man.
If Musk really has to pay these compensations, he could become the first billionaire to go bankrupt due to tweeting. Which would be quite symbolic for a platform he renamed X – just like in mathematics, where X represents the unknown quantity.
