New Liepāja Show Emerges on Metalurgu Street - Free Fireworks with Professional Participation

A two-story house on Metalurgu Street decided to show Riga's pyrotechnicians how to properly organize a fireworks show. As a result, free entertainment for all Liepāja residents was organized within three and a half hours.

Yesterday shortly before midnight, a grandiose event took place on Metalurgu Street that surpassed all Riga Light Festival performances combined. A two-story house decided to stage a spontaneous fireworks show that covered a full 120 square meters and lasted three and a half hours. That's longer than any concert performance at Liepāja's "Lielais Dzintars" concert hall.

Local resident Juris commented on the event: "You won't get a show like that for free in Riga. There they charge hundreds of euros for pyrotechnic displays, but here everything is natural and authentic. Our houses know how to entertain the public."

Unfortunately, the show also had its downsides — two professional fireworks observers from the Fire and Rescue Service had to pay for their tickets with their health. But as we know, true art always demands sacrifices. By comparison — in Riga theaters, audiences only pay with money and boredom.

Meanwhile in Priekule, a smaller-scale event took place — soot was burning in a chimney. It was more like a home theater — smaller budget, but more intimate atmosphere. As the Fire and Rescue Service says — in this cold winter, residents are getting especially creative with heating, creating ever new entertainment opportunities.

The season's main advice from fire safety experts — if you want to stage your own fireworks show, better go to Daugavgrīva. There's nothing left to destroy there anyway.
