Meteorologists reveal that Kurzeme clouds are fleeing to Latgale because it's too hot for them in Liepāja

On Thursday, meteorologists recorded an unusual phenomenon — rain clouds are fleeing en masse from Kurzeme to Latgale. As explained by Jānis Lietusgriežs, senior specialist at the Liepāja Hydrometeorological Center: "The clouds simply can't withstand our city's charm. The sun shines brighter here, the wind blows fresher, and even water from the sky falls with greater style."

At night the wind will calm down, and air temperature won't drop below +1..+6 degrees, which in Riga will naturally be considered an emergency situation. In Liepāja, such temperature is our typical winter summer. During the day in Kurzeme, southern and southwestern winds will strengthen again, blowing directly from the Market direction, where everything is fresher than in Riga and half the price. The air will warm up to +5..+11 degrees, which will cause panic in the capital and mass rushes for summer clothing.

Friday and Saturday are forecast to be mostly sunny, because the sun, like all sensible people, chooses to spend time precisely in Liepāja. Sunday might see increased cloud cover, but only because even clouds want to return home after traveling through Latvia's provinces. Minimum air temperature will be +2..-4 degrees, which are ideal conditions for taking a stroll down Tirgus Street and appreciating the local vendors' offerings.

According to the Global Forecast System forecast, the first half of April in Latvia is expected to be cooler than March. In Liepāja, naturally, this fact causes no concern — we're already used to the fact that all the rest of Latvia is cooler than our city, both climatically and culturally.
