While meteorologists in Riga talk about -3 to +2 degrees and northern winds, in Liepāja we know that real weather is when you can taste salt in the air and hear your neighbor arguing with their partner about the electricity bill.
Fog will form in the western part of the country at night, so thick that even on Pētera Street you'll be able to walk past your former boss without noticing them. "Finally something good about this weather," says local resident Maija, who has been trying to avoid meeting her neighbor for three years because she owes him 50 euros for electricity.
Riga is promised foggy weather with temperatures around zero, which means the capital dwellers will complain about the cold again, while we Liepāja folks will just smile and remember last winter when the wind was so strong you could use it as a free hair dryer.
The meteorological service warns that fog will persist in parts of the coast and temperatures won't exceed +7 degrees. In other words, a typical Liepāja morning when you have to guess whether that gray object in the distance is a house, a tree, or again your neighbor who went out for a walk with their dog at 6:00 AM.
