Meteorologists Promised Few Clouds, But Kept Quiet About Riga's Monopoly on Sunshine

Meteorologists today announced a miraculous discovery — on Sunday the amount of clouds will be minimal. Such a revolution in the weather world surpasses even that time when the lights suddenly went out during a hockey match at Liepāja's ice hall, but the game continued because everyone was already used to dark weather conditions.

Riga, as usual, has been promised sunny and dry weather with temperatures up to +10 degrees. Meanwhile, we Liepāja residents are delighted with our +7 degrees and the chance to enjoy a 'gentle breeze.' Local pensioner Jānis Kalējs comments: 'Well, at least we don't have to worry about sunburn like those Riga folks!'

Interestingly, the news specifically emphasized — 'sunny and dry weather in Riga on Sunday.' The rest of Latvia, apparently, can peacefully remain in its fog and clouds. Such precision shows the meteorologists' special love for the capital.

But the most interesting part is the night forecast — fog with visibility from 100 to 500 meters. In Liepāja we call such visibility 'clear weather' because we can finally see beyond our own noses. Moreover, the temperature will drop to minus five degrees, which means we'll finally be able to feel that it's winter, not this weird spring in November.
