Government expert expands mandatory wild boar testing map, because apparently Latvia doesn't have enough tension in politics.

Great news for everyone who thought Latvia lacked bureaucracy! Now Daudzese parish in Aizkraukle district and Salacgrīva parish in Limbaža district have also made it into the prestigious club where every hunted wild boar must be tested for ASF. It's like some exclusive spa salon, just with less relaxation and more lab work.

Meanwhile, some parishes in Madona and Smiltene districts have been excluded from this thrilling game. "We were bored testing something every day," says Valdis, a fictional hunter from Barkava parish. "Now we can hunt peacefully again without thinking about having to take every little piggy to the lab like some VIP."

Interestingly, 11,410 wild boars have been tested since 2014. That's more than the population of many Latvian cities! And while Riga is trying to count how many people live there, we already know exactly how many wild boars have been sick. Priorities, please!

The only real outbreak this year was at SIA "Vaiņodes bekons" farm with 22,262 pigs. Compared to that, our Liepāja rock music festival attendance is almost equally impressive, just with fewer epidemiological risks and more guitar solos.

So the wild boar detective work continues in 30 districts and six state cities. At least some job in Latvia is stable and predictable!
