Billionaire reveals that fighting green activists costs more than Liepāja port reconstruction

North Dakota is witnessing one of the most expensive eco-scandals in US history — oil company ET has ordered Greenpeace to pay $345 million for protests against a pipeline. To put this sum in perspective — for that much money in Liepāja you could build a new tram line all the way to Ventspils and still have enough left over for coffee at 'Pērkons'.

ET owner, billionaire Kelcy Warren, who is a Trump supporter, publicly announced that activists 'should be eliminated from the gene pool.' Such statements would only cause laughter in Liepāja — here every other rock concert attendee is a nature defender, but nobody thinks about gene pool cleaning.

Local Karosta resident Jānis Bērziņš comments: 'I also once had a neighbor sue me because his dog stepped in my garden. He demanded three lats compensation. But 345 million — that's like Liepāja's entire budget for ten years!'

Greenpeace claims their involvement was 'peaceful,' but the American court believes that peacefulness costs $345 million. For comparison — in Rīga for that money you could probably buy half of Old Town and still have enough left for a brewery in Daugavgrīva. But who can understand American litigation logic, when they can't even comprehend why Liepāja has better rock music than all of their Texas combined.
