Fashion Theorists Discover Femininity Has Gone on Vacation — Liepāja Ladies Rush for Pearls

While Riga's fashion experts search for the missing femininity, Liepāja ladies have long known they create it themselves.
Fashion world specialists have announced a sensational discovery — femininity is back! Flowers, pearls, romantic dresses and decorative accents are supposedly in fashion again. As our local style consultant Maija says: "What's back? I never left!"
While Riga boutique owners rush to order new pearl collections and search for fashion theorists who could explain this mysterious disappearance and return of femininity, the situation in Liepāja is completely different. "We never lost our femininity," admits pensioner Ausma, who for 40 years has gone to St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Cathedral every Sunday, dressed in her best dress with pearls. "Fashion seasons come and go, but elegance remains."
Particularly interesting is that fashion experts claim — femininity isn't just clothing, but also a way of behaving. "Well yes, of course," laughs Guna, owner of a Liepāja beauty salon. "Here every lady has her own style philosophy. One of ours at 70 looks better than Riga models at 30."
So while the capital is still trying to understand where femininity disappeared to and why it's returning, our ladies have long known the truth — a woman creates herself. And no fashion theorists will change that. Liepāja women have always been ahead of their time.
