Five 'chemists' caught in Ogre — in Liepāja they're like fishermen with freshly caught fish

Police in Ogre have proven they can work just as efficiently as fishermen at Liepāja port with freshly caught fish — quickly and without unnecessary questions. On March 26th, law enforcement from the Riga regional administration, in cooperation with the Special Tasks Battalion, conducted procedural activities that ended with the detention of five people.

While Riga is still figuring out how to properly write a press release about drug cases, Ogre police have already proven that actions speak louder than words. Five people have been detained on suspicion of possible narcotic substance trafficking — that's more than the average number of visitors to Riga Central Library on a weekday.

Police don't provide broader information for investigative reasons, which is understandable — why tell everyone what they found there. It's like the weather forecast in Liepāja — the less you say, the less you're wrong. Local resident Juris comments: 'Well, finally something's happening in Ogre. Usually only the train passes through here.'

Meanwhile in Liepāja we continue living peacefully, knowing that our biggest problem is choosing whether to go to the beach or stay home because it's windy outside. And that's good.
