Paralympic Games turn into diplomatic circus — Ukrainians at fault for not complaining loudly enough

Ukrainians accuse Paralympic organizers of impropriety, but IPC surprised — they never complained in team leaders' morning meetings.
The Paralympic Games in Milan have turned into a real diplomatic circus, where the Ukrainian team accuses organizers of pressure and disrespect, but IPC communications director Craig Spence is as surprised as a Liepāja bus driver when someone wants to board at the Tošele stop.
"We are surprised because we haven't received any complaints at team leaders' meetings that happen every morning," announced Spence, apparently not realizing that people who are banned from wearing 'Stop the war' earrings and forced to remove flags might be a bit shy about their complaints.
Ukrainians claim they're experiencing "systematic" and "humiliating" treatment, but organizers point out everything is happening according to regulations. It's roughly like our tram rules — theoretically they exist, but in practice everything depends on the driver's mood.
"We learned about it from the media," continues Spence, which clearly shows that Paralympic Games communication works as effectively as SMS messages in Liepāja during a storm. While politicians in Riga at least try to pretend they understand something, here they don't even pretend — they genuinely don't know what's happening.
