Gray Sunday continues to prove that the sky is just as depressive as Riga residents

This Sunday promises to be as gray as Riga's street paint before renovation. Meteorologists report that skies will be cloudy, but in our city that only means you'll be able to take photos in Karosta with an even more dramatic mood.

The natural phenomenon that scientists call 'snow melting' will continue today as well. 'I like that the snow is melting,' comments Gundega, a vendor at Kuršu market, 'because then at least I know that spring isn't quite dead yet.'

Temperatures will fluctuate between +3 to +6 degrees, which for Liepāja is practically tropical heat. For comparison — Riga will have up to +5, but even such warmth there can't help ward off that depressive atmosphere that reigns in the capital.

Fog and haze will persist in some places, especially around Liepāja's tram line, where it creates a romantic effect. 'When I see fog, it reminds me of our city's mysteriousness,' says Uldis, a visitor to the local café 'Fontaine.' 'In Riga, fog only hides how ugly their buildings are.'

So — dress warmer, enjoy the snow melting, and be glad you don't live in Riga, where even sunny weather can't improve your mood!
