Peru nightclub explodes so loudly that Liepāja rock musicians ask for consultations

While nightclubs in northern Peru explode like grenades, our rock musicians in Liepāja are still trying to achieve such volume.
A nightclub called "Dali" in northern Peru exploded on Saturday so loudly that 33 people were injured. Four of them are in serious condition, which means the explosion was even louder than a Liepāja rock musicians' concert in Putnu Street backyard.
Police consider the incident an attack, which would be impossible in Liepāja - our local rockers have been trying to achieve such an effect with their amplifiers for years, but the maximum they manage is neighbor complaints about disturbing the peace. "We are Latvia's rock capital, but these Peru guys surpass our loudest concert with one explosion," laments local musician Juris Kalniņš.
Organized crime levels have increased in Trujillo province in recent years, but in Liepāja our biggest problem is that rock musicians can't find a place to play loud enough to drown out the seagulls. Last year Peru recorded 2,200 organized crime murders, but in Liepāja our rockers haven't killed anyone - only a few neighbors have had migraines.
Local experts acknowledge that Peru's experience could be useful for Liepāja's music scene. "Maybe we need to consult with these Peru specialists about sound effects," ponders the head of Karosta Cultural Center. "Of course, without the injuries - we only want the volume, not the ambulances."
