Riga Deputies Outperform Liepāja Ice Hall in Attendance Numbers

While Liepāja's ice hall has lines for every game, Riga City Council struggles with the opposite problem — deputies avoid their seats like vampires avoid a garlic market.
Riga City Council has discovered a new sport — the seat-skipping championship, where the leaders are Briedis, Dolgopolovs, and Petrovs. While at Liepāja's ice hall even in the biggest frost fans pile up to get into games, in the capital city deputies demonstrate the opposite enthusiasm.
Briedis has already achieved a record of seven missed sessions out of 18 possible, which is a better result than many hockey players this season. Dolgopolovs with his five missed sessions resembles a goal net that everything passes through, while Petrovs with three sessions missed this year is still just warming the bench.
Local political expert Ģirts Kalniņš from Grīzupe comments: 'In Liepāja, even in the middle of winter, the ice hall is hotter than Riga City Council in summer. At least something interesting happens there.'
It should be particularly noted that all deputies have attended only three sessions in this convocation. Apparently this only happened because someone forgot to announce the session time or there were especially tasty pastries in the buffet. Riga City Council continues to prove that democracy is like hockey — sometimes all the players are on the bench.
