Rotbergs Declares Savings: 47 Thousand Euros or Durbe's Annual Budget

Deputy Rotbergs has declared 47,454 euros in savings, which is exactly as much as our neighbor Durbe spends annually on tranquility.
Deputy Rotbergs has decided to share his financial secrets by declaring 47,454 euros in savings. This sum is almost as impressive as the entire annual budget of Durbe, which this peaceful neighboring town spends to maintain its famous silence.
What's most surprising is that Rotbergs earned 74,232 euros in salary last year but only saved half of it. Apparently the deputy has expensive hobbies — perhaps he collects Riga tram tickets or pays rent for an apartment in the capital, which, as we know, costs as much as buying half a neighborhood in Liepāja.
Particularly touching is the fact that Swedbank paid him 24.71 euros in interest. With such a sum you can buy three hot coffees on Rojas Street in Liepāja, and still have change left for a tram ticket. But most importantly — the deputy has neither a car nor debts, which shows rare integrity in today's politics.
"Well, at least now I know my bank account isn't the only one where the numbers are so small," comments local resident Jānis, counting his own 24.71 euro "fortune" from Swedbank.
