Ruks wants to register drones, but in Liepāja they can't fly against the storm anyway

Police chief pushes for drone registration after Ukraine visit, but in Liepāja these devices have long surrendered to nature and neighbors' windows.
Police chief Armands Ruks has returned from Ukraine with a revolutionary idea — register drones! He probably saw how they fly in straight lines there and don't crash in someone's yard every now and then.
But has Ruks been to Liepāja in winter? Here any drone becomes an "underwater drone" in Lake Liepāja after its first flight, or a "land drone" in the neighbor's greenhouse. "I have three drones," says local enthusiast Juris, "one is in a tree by Karosta prison, another is somewhere on Pērkone Street, and I have no idea where to look for the third one."
Ruks is worried that drones are used for drug deliveries to prisons. Liepāja doesn't have this problem — our drones can't even deliver a pizza order before crashing. "I once tried to photograph the tram with a drone," recalls pensioner Zinaīda, "but it immediately flew into the Kurzeme Concert Hall. Now birds live there."
Of course, in Riga drones are used for sophisticated things — there they can actually fly in straight lines for more than two minutes. But in Liepāja we're more practical — we have a tram that runs on tracks and never disappears into the sky. Although sometimes it also goes off in an unknown direction, but at least you can find it.
