Parliament Ready to Hand Over Their Own to British Teapots – Is This a New Export Product?

Latvian parliamentarians are discussing the possibility of sending our citizens to Great Britain, as they are reportedly particularly interested in Latvian criminal talents.
A new slogan echoes through the halls of Parliament – "Our people are needed everywhere!" This time it's about exporting Latvian citizens to Great Britain, but not due to labor shortages, rather for criminal prosecution purposes. As it turns out, the Brits are very interested in our compatriots who have allegedly committed particularly serious crimes.
"Well, finally someone appreciates our talents!" comments Jānis from Karosta in Liepāja. "I thought we were only good at rock music and tram repairs, but it turns out we can compete with the world elite in crime too!"
The Ministry of Justice explains that currently we can extradite our citizens to EU countries, the USA, Iceland, Norway, and Australia. But Britain, which left the EU in 2020, now wants our "export goods" back. As traders say – demand creates supply.
Interestingly, the Brits have approached our authorities several times requesting help with cooperation. "They've definitely heard about our efficient justice system," ironizes an employee of a Liepāja law firm. "Or they simply want to check if our criminals are as creative as our politicians."
The only question is – will the Brits be ready to pay for this export as dearly as they do for our timber? Because quality, as we know, costs money.
