Scantest like the Liepāja tram — moves forward and earns more

Technical inspection giant Scantest increases profits by 14.4%, while Riga drivers continue crying about prices.

Technical inspection company Scantest is like the Liepāja tram — simply and efficiently increasing turnover by 14.4 percent. While everyone in Riga is whining about expensive technical inspections, here in Liepāja we know — quality costs money.

In the company's annual report we read that the turnover increase is related to price increases. Well, what a surprise! As my neighbor Juris from Karosta said: "If you can raise prices and everyone still comes anyway, then why not make a profit?" That's exactly what the Swedes from "Carspect Group," who own "Scantest," are thinking too.

Moreover, the company plans to modernize technical inspection stations in accordance with new EU requirements. This means even better equipment and, most likely, even higher prices. But hey, at least our cars will be properly inspected, not like in Riga, where such wonders drive the streets that even the Karosta Museum would be proud.

With 7.173 million euro turnover and almost 2 million profit, "Scantest" proves — technical inspection is a business that goes like butter. While Riga's CSDD reduces profits by 39.8 percent, "Scantest" continues to grow. Probably because they understand — if you want quality, pay for it. And we Liepāja folks have always been ready to pay for good service.

In short, technical inspection in Latvia is developing like Liepāja's cultural life — slowly but surely upward. And that's good.
