Saturday Will Be So Warm That Even St. Joseph's Cathedral Will Allow Winter Coats to Come Off

Meteorologists eagerly announce that Saturday will be spring-like warm and sunny, which in Liepāja conditions means we can safely leave home without three layers of winter jackets. Air temperature will reach even +12 degrees, which is almost as hot as summer!

In the southern part of the country, where those who complain about everything usually live, there will be more clouds. But in Liepāja, of course, there will be sunny weather, because we have always been nature's chosen ones. As local meteorology enthusiast Pēteris Vējiņš says: "When it's +10 in Riga, we have +12. When it's raining in Riga, we have fresh wind. It has always been this way."

A gentle wind will continue to blow, which is no surprise, since we live by the sea, where wind is our constant companion. For many, this will be an opportunity to finally visit St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Cathedral without worrying that winter vestments will be too heavy in such warmth. The congregation is already preparing for the big celebration with lighter attire.

The capital also promises +10 degrees and sunny weather, but as we know, Riga's sunshine is never as real as Liepāja's. There the sun has something artificial about it, but here by the sea it's natural and honest, just like everything else in our city.
