Summer Sound seeks vendors: piercings, tattoos and other ways to turn beach relaxation into extreme sports

While Riga festival organizers are still pondering how to attract audiences, Liepaja's Summer Sound has already revealed a revolutionary approach to summer entertainment organization. The festival's vendor zone will offer not only traditional burgers and beer, but also piercing and tattoo services. So now you can arrive at the beach with one nostril hole, but leave with three and the latest "Liepājas Metalurgs" logo on your shoulder.

Organizer Uldis Pabērzis explains that the vendor zone is an essential part of the festival experience, and indeed — what could be more essential than the opportunity to get permanent body decoration while listening to Alan Walker's music in the sand? Local residents are already predicting that after the festival, Liepaja hospital's emergency department will have the same chaos as during hockey games when "Metalurgs" fans celebrate victory.

"We want to give festival visitors the opportunity to reach one of summer's largest audiences," says Pabērzis, and that really is a good way to attract customers — where else will you be able to show off your new tattoo to 20,000 people? Applications are open until May 22nd, so there's still time to come up with what extreme service to offer.

The festival takes place July 31st and August 1st, and if everything goes according to plan, then on August 2nd Liepaja beach will have more holes than Swiss cheese and more ink than Riga City Council documents. But the main thing is that there will be quality and diverse offerings for all tastes — both those who just want a hot dog and those who want to forever engrave memories of Summer Sound on their bodies.
