Sunday promises to be so cloudy that even Karosta will look healthy

Meteorologists with their fancy terminology are once again trying to prepare us for what happens in Liepāja every day – clouds and fog. Sunday will be mostly cloudy, which will cause panic in the capital, but here it will be perceived as just another day.

As local café visitor Maija explained: "Well, there are clouds. So what? We always live in clouds. In Riga they cry when the sun doesn't shine for two days, but we're already used to it."

Temperatures will range from +3 to +6 degrees, which means the same people who philosophize about life and politics will gather again at the tram stops. Fog will persist, especially in the first half of the day, so it's recommended not to go to Karosta – it's permanently like that there anyway.

In Riga, of course, there will be rain from all this, because the capital always needs something special. But for us it's enough that we can see our hands when we stretch them out. Night temperatures will be around zero, which means only the bravest or those who have forgotten what cold feels like will be able to walk on the beach.

Local residents are already starting to plan Sunday activities: "It'll be good weather to read at home. Or go to Liepāja Theatre – at least it's warm there and you can see what's happening on stage," philosophically added pensioner Jānis, who for 30 years has been doing the same thing every Sunday – looking out the window and commenting on the weather.
