Trump Threatens to Blow Up World's Largest Gas Field, But First Seeks Advice at Liepāja Theatre

The US President threatens explosions on social media, but experts suggest he should first attend a cultural event.

While here in Liepāja we take pride in our theatre, where even people from Riga come to experience genuine emotions, US President Donald Trump is demonstrating his dramatic talents on social media. He has announced his readiness to blow up the world's largest gas field if Iran continues attacking Qatar.

Trump writes on his platform "Truth Social" that Israel has bombed a relatively small part of the gas field, but Iran didn't know this and therefore attacked Qatari facilities. Such logic would be perfectly suited for an absurdist theatre production in Liepāja.

Local playwright Jānis comments: "Such a plot would be ideal for our theatre — first someone bombs something, then another doesn't know what's happening, and finally a third threatens to blow everything up. That's classic absurdist theatre genre."

Meanwhile, Qatar reports new Iranian attacks, but here in Liepāja we're simply waiting for all these dramatic heroes to finally figure out who's actually doing what and why. Perhaps they should attend a good play to understand that good drama also requires sensible motivation for action.
