Turaidas Street proves it's a more dangerous place in Liepāja's chemistry than Karosta firing range

Two collisions in one day on Turaidas Street prove that this street has become Liepāja's Bermuda Triangle with four wheels.
Turaidas Street yesterday proved that it's as unambiguous as a Liepāja rock musician's attitude toward pop music - in both cases the result is loud and ends with cardiac arrest.
In the first collision at 1:05 PM, a Volvo met with a Chevrolet, and the result was as sad as Riga's attempt to compare with our beach. Unfortunately, the woman from the Chevrolet lost her life, possibly due to suddenly deteriorating health. As local Turaidas Street shop clerk Gunārs says: "This street is like our tram schedule - you never know when and where exactly something will happen."
But Turaidas Street hadn't finished its daily program. In the evening around 10:50 PM, a Mercedes-Benz B180 decided that snow is just a warm-up before the real show. On the slippery curve, this car created a real auto-ballet with a Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz Axor, which ended with a tree embrace. At least the tree wasn't from Riga - that's why it withstood the impact.
Police have started an investigation, but locals already know the answer: "Turaidas Street simply wants to be famous like Karosta prison, just with more modern methods." As one eyewitness said: "Better to walk on Liepāja beach - there at least the sand is softer than the asphalt surface."
Thanks to VUGD workers who cleared the road faster than Riga fixes one pothole. That's Liepāja style - we work efficiently, even if conditions are more complicated than our tram route.
