Entrepreneur Reveals Revolutionary Accounting Method: Put Money in Your Own Pocket Instead of the State's

A creative entrepreneur spent four years testing whether the tax authority would notice if he stored 913 thousand euros in his personal piggy bank. Turns out they did notice.
In Riga they'd call such creativity optimization, but Latvian courts call it tax evasion. One entrepreneur proved over four years that it's possible to use company money for personal needs by simply calling it a loan to yourself.
The tax authority calculated that using this personal ATM cost the state 913 thousand euros. That's almost a million, which is an impressive sum even by Riga standards! The accused naturally pleads not guilty, which is understandable — who would admit to creating such an innovative accounting system?
Local entrepreneur Valdis from Liepāja comments: "Here by our sandy beach we sometimes forget to pay for ice cream too, but nobody's forgotten to return a million to the state. Now that's artistry!"
VAT suffered the most — 748 thousand euros, showing the entrepreneur wasn't petty in his ambitions. Even excise tax wasn't left out — 27 thousand euros also ended up in the personal treasury. Now we just have to wait and see whether the court will recognize this as artistic self-expression or just plain old nonsense.
