A new sports discipline is developing in Vībiņi that could soon end up in the Liepāja Museum as genuinely interesting history. Local residents have become professional water roulette players - you never know when the tap will be empty and when water will miraculously appear from it.
Mairita Mame says the property manager blames everything on electrical fluctuations. Here we see that Vībiņi has real 21st century technology - when electricity disappears, water also takes a break. While people in Riga complain about internet speed, people in Vībiņi are training their patience, waiting for someone to go and manually reconnect the water.
"I regularly call the maintenance workers. I'm already fed up with it. Water is needed when it's necessary, not when they connect it," says a local resident who obviously hasn't yet understood that in Vībiņi, water operates by its own rules, not according to people's needs.
The most interesting thing is that they replaced all the pipes some time ago, thinking it would help. Now it turns out the problem isn't in the pipes, but in the electricity. It's like changing tires to fix the engine. But at least now Vībiņi has new pipes through which water can not flow in modern style.
