Virga Driver Proves He Can Be More Sour Than a Lemon and Wrong About His Driving Skills
A man with nearly three per mille of alcohol in his blood thought he was ready for Formula 1 racing, but police had other ideas.
In Virga, there was a meeting between one very confident driver and State Police measuring instruments, which ended with the number 2.83 on the breathalyzer. That's almost as much as students at Liepāja University need cups of coffee to wake up for their first lecture.
The driver, who apparently was convinced that the name "Citroën" means he should act as sour as a lemon, showed he could be even sourer. The man enthusiastically blew into the breathalyzer, possibly hoping that with enough breath he could inflate the result down to zero.
Police have initiated criminal proceedings against this driving enthusiast. Locals comment: "Well, at least he didn't try to go to Riga — there he would have been just one of many." Now the man will have plenty of time to think about whether he really needed to prove he could be sourer than a lemon.
The moral of this story is simple: if you feel you're as sour as a lemon, it's better to stay home and squeeze yourself into a glass, not onto the road.
