Zelensky Tours Middle East Seeking Air Defense: Promises to Even Perform at Liepāja Theater in Exchange for Missiles

Ukraine's president actively courts Middle Eastern tycoons, offering everything from joint production to cultural exchanges.
While the government in Riga is still figuring out how to pay the electricity bills, Ukrainian President Zelensky has launched a truly creative diplomatic campaign in the Middle East. He's touring one wealthy country after another, hunting for air defense systems and, judging by the results, is ready to offer almost anything.
After meeting with Qatar's emir, Zelensky announced a "mutually beneficial defense partnership for ten years." This sounds almost as serious as Liepāja city council's promises to improve the tram system. But unlike our trams, these agreements might actually change something.
Particularly intriguing are Zelensky's offers for "joint production development and technological partnership." Local observers are already speculating whether this means that soon Qatar's luxury stores will be selling Ukrainian-made military hardware labeled "Made in Doha." One Liepāja theater patron commented: "Well, if they can manufacture missiles together, they can probably put on a show too. Even people from Riga come to our theater to watch quality productions!"
Now Zelensky has promised similar deals with the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. It seems his strategy is simple: visit all the wealthy countries until one agrees to give him what he needs. This is almost as effective as our city mayor who promises every year that next year the trams will run more frequently.
