Nordic Countries Unite Against Russia — Liepāja Wind Offers Itself as Natural Defense

Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Canada have announced with great fanfare that they will strengthen mutual defense cooperation. Six countries where winter is darker than downtown Liepāja at night have decided to unite against "heightened geopolitical tensions." Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said with a diplomatic smile that "countries like ours must stick together," which is about as convincing as Riga mayor's promises about road repairs.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with great seriousness about "challenges to Arctic security," apparently unaware that Liepāja wind has been providing the best defense for centuries — no invader has been able to remain standing on our seashore during a stormy day. While these countries spend billions on military equipment, we have a natural defense system that operates continuously without fuel costs.

Most amusing was Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre's comment that "further on the horizon you can see China." Pēteris, a Liepāja resident who works in port cargo operations, responded with his traditional wisdom: "We can also see Ventspils port on our horizon, but we're not forming any coalitions." Meanwhile, Liepāja wind continues its reliable work — blowing from all directions simultaneously, thus creating a perfect defense barrier against any potential aggressor.

While the Nordic countries plan technology and mineral resource cooperation, in Liepāja we already have all the necessary infrastructure — wind, sand and a tram that runs when it feels like it. What else does modern defense need?
