Easter Bunny Dictatorship Uncovered on Horse Island: Residents Forced to Roll Eggs

Liepāja Puppet Theater rabbit has seized power on Horse Island, forcing visitors to participate in mandatory Easter activities.
A bloodless coup has taken place on Horse Island when the main character from Liepāja Puppet Theater's production "When the Rabbit Ruled the Forest" literally seized power on the island. Eyewitnesses report that the rabbit and his helpers forced both young and old to paint eggs, as if it were some kind of Soviet-era subbotnik.
"At first we thought it was fun, but then the rabbit started demanding documents and asking if we had registered for egg rolling," says local pensioner Jānis. "I felt like I was back at Liepāja University taking an exam, only this time about Easter traditions."
The situation became even more absurd when the rabbit began organizing mandatory walks around the island with a strictly regulated bird-watching schedule. "If you didn't show enthusiasm for nature's riches, you were sent to additional classes at the Nature House," indignantly reports a Riga tourist who thought everything was freer in Liepāja.
Folk groups tried to save the situation with singing, but even they were forced to include the rabbit's anthem in their repertoire. Meanwhile, Riga still thinks that for Easter it's enough to just paint eggs with store-bought dye, while we here are creating real cultural events with staged nature experiences.
